what next?

most of the goals have been hounded down/completed so far, except for the weight issue.

the coming months are going to see a major shift with no more floorball/ord no job looming just ahead.

And despite setting goals for 2011-12 to make up for the lost time slacked during 2010, I still can manage to fool around throw in a couple(alot) of legion td games (4-5hrs a day?). Hmm not a good sign.

theres a saying that children are a mirror image of their parents. So if you just shuffle the words of the quote around to 'parents are a mirror image of the children' wouldn't that be true to?

It may not seem to be much of a difference, but the first quote is meant for parents to understand some of their childrens actions.

Usually when brute force is used on you, there is little much you can do except to force back. However there is another option where 'crazy' can be used.

Sure, a guy who can punch you is to be feared in secondary school, but nothing beats craziness.

Craziness is an example of alvin lee grabbing your hand and licking it when you try to attack him

it may be taking a badminton racket to swing off attackers when its your birthday

it may be sean jumping off the railing onto the roof of a walkway to escape a water balloon attack.

It doesn't have to be 'crazy' in the literal sense, but it just has to show that you are more willing to defend then the opposing party is willing to attack.

Of course, this isn't much use out of secondary school, but you can still modify it and use it to gauge and remember how far a person can be pushed and when you should stop, which is still essential anywhere

1) phrasing it in a question assumes that there is at least 1 more person that knows/told that person that theres a test today, but a statement only shows one person involve.

2) the multiplier spreads faster with a question, especially stating it and incredulous tone that me and sean does.

3) a statement leads to a higher chance of questioning and disbelief, a question that concerns them, like a test, leads to people caught up in trying to find the answer with another person instead of questioning the source because of 1) and thus spreading a multiplier instead as stated in 2)

anyway just a random post that no one will read about floorball.

the div 4 league was a miracle that we even got it up thanks to good planning by zp and lenny, unfortunately the constant switching of players and the difficulty or gelling 3 generations of floorballers with different skill sets and playing preferences.

The first two games went on quite smoothly with the drawing with mjc 3-3 and the narrow loss to the team that would go on to get 2nd 2-1, the third game was a bit of a fiasco, with the lost of a few of our players (ivan, zhao peng, lenny) and the reshuffling of lines.

with 1 goal that was conceded when sean was fouled, and a quite a bad mistake by one of our defenders leading to a second goal and me being a retarded captain, even then we still lost 3-0 only

managed to thump another team 12-1, but then lost another player (thaddeus).

Thus leading to yet another reshuffling of lines, randomly junking people anywhere, and still basically confused about the formation, leading to horrible 6-1 and 5-2 defeats.

the 2-2-1 formation was just created out of necessity as we were on a horrible 1-1-4 streak during the league, with some very valuable positive factors for our team

1) first and foremost, removing the center guy, which we never had any idea of how to use him anyway

2) having a fixed box formation, which we are all comfortable with the rolls

3) passive trapping the opponents at the boards, and quick shots and counters

4) utilizing bens great finishing skills, lennys drag shots and zp ability to reset well to gel the team, while me and sean happily go back to our fun position of sitting back holding the fort, passing among ourselves and start the playups

5) a side advantage was having the 'runners' in the other line to tire people out, with beale, ben, zhongting, junyang, kiat leong, the opponents have their hands and stamina full trying to catch them, leaving us to exploit their gaps with passes.

results were effective, first during the training session when the other team was totally shut out in their half, and then on court, with 4 straight wins 4-3,6-1,2-1,5-1. ending with a respective mid-table score of 5-1-4.

but yes as the season came to a close, there is a need to at least have an alternative, especially a more aggressive one, and one that doesn't leave gaps. I'm quite sure they are ways to effective breach this formation (having started it *cough ego bost cough*) a simple 2 vs 1 on the topman, a crash through to mid and a pass out is quite easy to cause at the very least, panic in the heart of the formation.

2-1-2 is still the safest? BUT NO IDEA HOW THE CENTER WORKS LOL

A 59-year-old man has been jailed in Gastonia, N.C., on charges of larceny after allegedly robbing an RBC Bank for $1 so he could get health care in prison. Richard James Verone handed a female teller a note demanding the money and claiming that he had a gun, according to the police report.

He then sat down and waited for police to arrive. "… I say, 'I'll be sitting right over here, on the chair, waiting for the police,'" Verone told reporters, recalling the June 9 robbery in an interview from Gaston County Jail.

The equation for whether 'events/outings; happen always seem to obey this formul

:if the want to go out + promise of fun > inertia of staying at home + laziness to get out of that damm chair in front of the computer

:then event + outing occurs

unfortunately inertia + laziness is such a deadly combo and whats even more unfortunate is that you can't do anything to change it for other people

Its also due to the fact that people feel safer banking in what they have now, instead of the 'promise of fun' which may not happen later.

So the main point is to increase the left point of the equation, which me and yuhang have learned the hard way that spamming 'outings' and 'promises of fun' merely leads to inflation and decreases not increase the left side of the equation.

ok shit, should stop thinking so much when I'm bored.

But this formula was and still is useful for the past 5 years and counting, when you realize that its not dates, times and even money that stops things from happening. Instead it boils down to wants vs laziness because time and money can be distorted if the want is strong enough.

Yes, it is hard to think that life is fair, when you see turds on both side of you succeeding in whatever you are doing while putting less effort than you.

But thats the tricky part about life, it is fair but it doesn't hand you fair play on the silver platter

take for instance jiehan (yes im still mad about the pay thing)

his studies skill level may trump you ace spades to 3 clubs, but how can you be sure that he can beat you in skydiving???!@!?

ok that maybe a bit exaggerated, but screw making a long post that no one will read anyway. The point is shit man, I believe that god, your parents, life, whatever you believe in gave you, the guy next to you, jiehan, the same number of skill points to excel in.

Your job is to find those skills, play to your strengths, and obviously avoid skydiving if you are not one of those types that succeed the first time.

So get out there off your lazy ass and keep trying something new, and keep following through on those you are good at, some people may have it easier finding skills as they are commonly such as studies, eq, iq, relationships, looks, memorizing korean band names, but hey....

time for another monthly update after a looong hiatus and a few tweaks and change in events.

But before the report there are some things that needs to be clarified.

A good thing about having flexible schedule, is that it is flexible, the bad thing about having a flexible schedule is that its flexible.

Because you are able to alter your schedule when things clashes, unfortunately since it is a flexible schedule, you can alter your schedule when things clashes.

and that is the worst explanation I have ever seen, haha sorry.

so the flexible items on the schedule (past/present for this year) are

- singing
- medical appointments
- tuition (somewhat, but has a higher priority)
- driving (higher priority for the moment)
- floorball (use to be a high priority, now still quite high, but will make space for the two above)
- floorball div 4 match
- 313
- bachelor club outings

however the worse thing I feel off having a flexible schedule is it sounding more hectic than it actually is, and spending most of your free time slacking in front of the comp, playing 2420 seasons of fifa and random tumblring, so in the end having quite a busy schedule but in the end spending half of your time slacking off and feeling bad about it.

- monday medical appointment, singing
- tuesday switch of medical appointment to later date, split off to half day,k, then tuition
- thursday tuition
- friday second split of half day off, driving, overnight mj
- saturday floorball, malaysia with family and sis friend
- sun tuition

however this coming week depends whether flu can recover, change of ma is allowed, split half day off is allowed, change tuition to sun is allowed.

the past 2 weeks was lucky in that things fell into place.... not too sure for this week though,sat looks nonsense though with overnight mj then rush to floorball at 9:30 then rush home to change to go malaysia at 12

still, its nothing compared to what my sis and mom schedule is like, or what some hall peoples schedule is like, and its fun woooohooooo.

but the flexible schedule only has a bit to do with the monthly recap of the new years resolutions, (which also doesn't include random outings)

personal new years resolutions

1) create blocks of time for using instead of just doing stuff randomly
2) 20 pullups
3) lose 6 kg
4) get more than 420, either by up-pesing,re-vocating,promotion,tution whatever
5)restart origami
6) read up more on economics

1) failing terribly, not enough self-discipline

2) stuck in a rut of 13-14, up from 12-13 rut few months back, but nowhere

near if the same rate continues

3) down 500g-2kg due to a stupid scale that fluctuates the weight, same as

goal 2) nowhere near if the same rate continues, not doing enough sets. 10hrs

in the office daily blocks alot of time though

4) the root of all problem for the goals, over-achieving atm, but the sad fact

is that the highest i acheived before is probably only a bit less than jiehans

pay (goal was a bit too simple to begin with), lowering it down abit to tend

to other goals (or slack more)

but driving isn't free, dad has a 70% paycut, uni isn't cheap, and funerals

aren't going to pay for themselves.

and since jiehans pay:work ratio is too sick, VENGEANCE

5) on hold atm, passing driving before pdl ends is the main goal though, happy

to say that the original goal didnt really die out though

6) not good, i blame the world events

its how democratic elections work, how decisions are made, how a simple argument is won, or even a trading insult session.

Because even the most logical argument or witty insults will lose against 2 friends who are dead set against you.

2 guys using primary school insults such as saying the words 'stupid stupid stupid' will ~~win~~ destroy someone stating something witty (but hopelessly long insult for an informal argument) such as 'if stupidness were fats, you would be heavier than wei xin'

An all too obvious example about politics is project work. Its where suddenly relationships becomes frosty between two persons, and then you hear directly/indirectly about them doing some 'sales pitching' (at least thats what it sounds like)

#1) of illogical-logical ideas

wouldn't it be great holding flag day during the rally periods and while the mps are doing their walkabout or during the pollings?

Of course, not be intrudcing the ground but maybe

- standing outside the field of the rallies
- camping at the market ( it would be interesting to see how much an mp would donate if he comes and shake your hand, and then you thrust the can into his face)
- standing not at the polling station itself but at the busstops at the polling station (since you can't drive in)

I dunno, what about changing the voting system for grcs, such that voters would have choose for every individual member in the grc (so there would be 8 boxes for a 4 person grc), and then voters would be able to tick for more than one individual running, even from both parties.

So instead of all or nothing and getting tin pei lin and sm goh, or george yeo and i dunno who is in his team (seriously, can anyone honestly offhand tell me who is in george yeo's team?)

voters can pick and choose (sm goh and nicole seah would be a nice team) and mr low and george yeo and the Taiwan dude can live happily ever after, and residents gets mp for both parties working for them, bonus!

and they can learn to work together..... or end up fighting endlessly, and the next campaign would be tricky to hold.

but then things in life aren't that easy ain't it? An idea always sounds good if you are lazy to think about why it will not work or (if you are the last person speaking)

If you think of things logically, a better way to find out who has better/feasible plans, would have two parties do it pw style, or write a 100 page thesis on what their plans are, and have planned official debates with each other on each issue,

instead of uttering 5 year plans in 5 sentences or having one sided rallies where the other team can only counter the next day if the public still remembers what the original topic is about (the rule: the person who speaks last makes the most sense plays here)

but then again, who the hell would read 100 page thesis? or go for a debate where the audience can't chant, curse and swear, blow whistles and what not haha, haven't 5 year plans in 5 sentences heard by 5000 people is better than 100 pages read by maybe 5 people.
